MILWAUKIE -- A woman's body was found in an apartment Sunday afternoon in what the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has called a homicide.
Deputies were dispatched about 3:30 p.m. to an apartment in the 4400 block of SE Roethe Road, said Deputy Marcus Mendoza. The victim's mother called police to report "suspicious circumstances" at her daughter's apartment, Mendoza said.
The victim's name has not been released but neighbors told KGW she was a kind person, always willing to help others out.
"She would make extra food and come by and say, 'Evelyn if have some soup for you' and stuff like that," one neighbor said.
Once deputies surveyed the scene, detectives and a medical examiner were called to the apartment.
