RENTON, Wash. -- Federal drug enforcement agencies have two people in custody after an early morning raid at a large home in the Renton. The raid may be part of a larger operation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Federal drug enforcement agents said several search warrants were being served Tuesday morning. Agents were going door-to-door at several locations in Snohomish and King counties in what appears to be a massive drug operation bust.
One of the locations was at a 3,000-sq.-ft. house in the Renton Highlands neighborhood. Aerial views from SkyKING showed several law enforcement vehicles surrounding the residence around 6 a.m. Two men at the home were taken into custody.
A SWAT team served the search warrants as neighbors watched from their windows.
"We just watched the whole thing unfold. A couple of people came out of the house - a lady and a baby, I think the owner of the house, somebody that lives downstairs, maybe a renter," said neighbor Larry Schulter. "It's a pretty quiet neighborhood. Nothing really happens as far as we know."
The DEA and Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force Joint Operation are leading the operation, with assistance from several local law enforcement agencies, said DEA spokesperson Jodie Underwood.
