MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- A man was shot and killed by U.S. Marshals in Mount Vernon Thursday.
According to Chris Cammock of Mount Vernon Police Department, he was a 26-year-old man wanted on an assault charge in Skagit County.
Cammock said U.S. Marshals spotted the suspect riding a bike Thursday afternoon and went after him.
Following a pursuit, Cammock said the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at the agents. They returned fire, shooting and killing him.
There were no other injuries as a result of the incident.
