TACOMA, Wash. -- Tacoma police are searching for a shooter who opened fire on a car, killing one person and wounding another.

Police say a white Chrysler minivan pulled alongside a small red Ford about 10 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Portland Avenue and East 56th Street.

Shots were fired into the car before the van sped away.  The driver was killed, while the passenger was hit in the arm. The passenger was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

Police say there was no confrontation or apparent motive for the shooting.

Police say there were few witnesses. The only description they have of the suspect is that he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

Police have shut down the area as they collect evidence into what happened.

I live on the east side. Seems like there's alway's a shooting in and around Tacoma. Are there any folks who post here that live there? Are the gangs that active? If it's not the citizens it's Cops being shot. Another innocent shot and killed. Somebody knows something, be a standup person and tell the Police what you heard and saw.
