Witnesses sought to WSU faculty member beating

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Pullman police are checking surveillance video and looking for witnesses as they investigate the beating that put a Washington State University faculty member in a hospital with a serious head injury.

Officers responding to a disturbance in a parking lot found 41-year-old David Warner unconscious around 2 a.m. Saturday near the campus.

Warner was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital and later transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane where he was originally reported in critical condition.
