MONROE, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says an off-duty Seattle police officer was involved in a three-vehicle crash early Tuesday on Highway 522 near Monroe.
Trooper Brandon Lee says the officer's pickup truck rear-ended a vehicle that hit another vehicle stopped for construction work.
Lee says the officer was trapped for a short time and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a broken leg. Lee says another driver had a sore neck and the other was not hurt.
Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson would not confirm whether a Seattle officer was involved in the crash.
