SEATTLE (AP) — One of the "greenest" buildings ever built will hold its grand opening on Earth Day, April 22, in Seattle.
The Bullitt Foundation headquarters is a model for environmental construction. Features include a composting toilet, a rooftop solar array and a system to use rainwater.
The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports (http://bit.ly/15YqyUc ) the Bullitt Center contains no toxic materials, including PVC or formaldehyde. And it's the first heavy timber office building built in Seattle since the 1920s.
