EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Police say an officer shot and killed an aggressive pit bull dog Monday in Everett.

The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/YVn3Z2 ) the officer had gone to a home looking for the owner of two dogs that had been reported chasing cars and being aggressive along a walking path near an elementary school.

Police spokesman Aaron Snell says no one answered the door but two dogs showed up and one charged the officer. He kicked at it, and when it charged again he killed it. The second dog ran away.
