SEATTLE (AP) — Voters in Seattle gave strong support in Tuesday's election to school operating and construction levies totaling $1.2 billion. The King County elections office reported both passing with more than 70 percent of the vote.

About a third of the voters in Washington were asked to mail ballots in local elections.
