LYNDEN, Wash. (AP) — A fire official in Lynden, Wash., says a construction worker suffered traumatic injuries when his arm was crushed beneath the bed of a dump truck.
Assistant Fire Chief Robert Spinner told the Bellingham Herald (http://is.gd/yDboeG ) the man in his late 20s was doing dirt work at a construction site Friday afternoon when his arm was pinned between the body and bed of the truck.
Co-workers rushed him to a fire station and he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Citing privacy laws, Spinner declined to release the man's name or discuss the severity of his injuries. He did not identify the company involved.
Serious workplace accidents are investigated by the Washington state Department of Labor & Industries.
