SEATTLE (AP) — Teachers at Seattle's Garfield High School are refusing to give students a standardized test called Measures of Academic Progress or MAP.
They held a news conference after school Thursday and said testing takes too much time and results are of questionable value.
The school district says results help improve accountability and academic decision-making. Teachers who refuse to administer the test will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
