SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (AP) — The Spokane County medical examiner has confirmed that a body found near Elk, Wash., was that of a 71-year-old Spokane Valley man with dementia who disappeared Nov. 23 while driving to a store for a loaf of bread.
The medical examiner says Samuel Counts died of hypothermia.
His car was found Friday, deep in the woods near Elk. His body was found about a quarter-mile away. His family says he used to live in the area where he was found.
