MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Marysville police say two men have been arrested for stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry from a Kmart store.

The Everett Herald reports (http://bit.ly/TBIFdK) the theft took place Friday. Store employees said a man came into the store about 3 p.m. and walked back to the jewelry area. He allegedly cut two cables securing a container with the jewelry and fled the store.

Police officers then spotted a truck with the suspect and a driver and began pursuing, but halted the chase after the man began driving dangerously. Shortly after, other officers spotted the car with just the driver. The 51-year-old Everett man was pulled over and arrested.

Moments later, a man matching the description of the other suspect was back near Kmart and asked an employee for a ride. That employee said yes, but promptly called police.
