SEATTLE (AP) — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesman says a man in his mid-30s was struck and killed by a freight train in Seattle.
Spokesman Gus Melonas says the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. Saturday. He says the man who died was trespassing, crossing tracks just south of the King Street tunnel in downtown Seattle.
He says the man stepped on the track as the train was approaching. The train attempted to stop, but could not in time.
