COVINGTON, Wash. (AP) — King County authorities say a 71-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault after a couple was hit by an SUV in the parking lot of a Walmart.
Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's office says investigators suspect alcohol was involved.
The Seattle Times (http://is.gd/IdUNaa ) reports the man was driving an SUV in the parking lot of the Covington Wal-Mart on Thursday night when it was crowded with shoppers.
Witnesses say a 45-year-old woman from the Covington area and her boyfriend, a man in his 40s, were walking into the Wal-Mart when they were hit.
KOMO-TV (http://is.gd/beGbyt ) reports medics rushed the woman and her boyfriend to Harborview Medical Center. The woman suffered injuries to her pelvis and head, and the man sustained head injuries.
