SEATTLE (AP) — In Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, Shannon Christiansen has offered shelter to what she figures is another victim of a fierce Northwest rain and wind storm: a hen.
Christiansen tells KING-TV (http://is.gd/wKs1I8) that she found the wet and injured bird Monday in her neighbor's yard.
She says her neighbors don't have chickens, and the hen isn't one of hers. She thinks the storm "picked her up and blew her away from home."
The friendly hen is now a guest in Christiansen's guest room. Her benefactor has christened her "Miss Purdy" for the moment and has posted photos of her on social media sites in an effort to find the hen's owner.
