WEB DESIGNERS CREATE FACEBOOK FOR THE DEAD (SUN) - With nearly a billion users on Facebook, many of our memories are already stored online, but what happens to them after we die? San Francisco social media entrepreneurs are seeking to organize and create an online space which allows people to mourn lost loved ones, by collaborating on albums and sharing photos, videos and text.

US EMBASSY PROTESTS (SAT/SUN) - Protests against an anti-Islam film produced in the U.S. have spread throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The U.S. government has increased security at their international outposts in response to the tension.

CHICAGO TEACHERS STRIKE (SAT/SUN) - On Saturday, a huge rally is taking place in Chicago with people coming in from locations around the country. The Chicago Teachers Union is set to vote on the strike resolution on Sunday.

SOYUZ LANDING (SUN) - Three international Space Station crew members are scheduled to end four months on the orbiting laboratory with a landing in Kazakhstan.

BERLIN FAIR SHOWCASES GLOBAL CONTEMPORARY ART (SAT) - A large art fair has opened in Berlin, showcasing hundreds of contemporary works from around the world. Over recent years, the German capital has become a center for contemporary art in Europe and the Art Berlin Contemporary (ABC) fair hopes to create even more interest.

MEXICO CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY (SAT) - Mexico celebrates its independence with a gathering in the capital's main square attended by President Enrique Pena Nieto and followed by fireworks.

FLOATING HOSPITAL GIVES RELIEF TO PATIENTS IN INDIA (SAT) - In parts of India, healthcare is inaccessible for many. Now a converted tourist boat is bringing medical advice and medicine to remote areas of India. The floating hospital is changing lives of villagers living in the Kerala backwaters.

TAIWAN BIRDMAN COMPETITION (SAT) - Contenders compete on who can fly and stay up in the air longest, using improvised wings of flying machines, at Taiwan's Birdman Competition.

ANTI-PUTIN RALLY IN RUSSIA (SAT) - Thousands of demonstrators are expected to march through Moscow in the first major anti-Putin rally in three months. The turnout will be one indication of whether the protest mood has endured after a summer of Kremlin repressions of the opposition.

MOON FUNERAL IN SOUTH KOREA (SAT) - Thousands of followers of Unification Church from around the world are expected to attend the funeral for church founder Reverend Sun Myung Moon, who died earlier this month.

DANCE USED TO HIGHLIGHT BULLYING IN AUSTRALIA (SAT) - It's a message through movement. An Australian dance group uses contemporary dance to highlight playground bullying.

SYRIA (SAT/SUN) - Fierce fighting continues between Syrian rebels and regime loyalists amid ongoing international efforts to end the 18-month conflict.

POPE VISITS LEBANON (SAT/SUN) - Pope Benedict XVI continues his three-day visit to Lebanon.

19th CENTURY PRISON NOW A HOTEL IN CAPE TOWN (SUN) - A newly refurbished hotel in South Africa has a dark past. The Break Water Hotel was once a brutal 19th Century prison. The hotel has kept many of the original features of the prison, including the bars, prisoner graffiti and even a punitive treadmill.

YOUNGSTERS LEARN TO DEAL WITH DISASTERS IN INDONESIA (SUN) - Indonesia is prone to seismic upheaval due to its location on the Pacific 'Ring of Fire,' an arc of volcanoes and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin. Now, schools in the province of Aceh are teaching survival skills to help children deal with an earthquake tsunami.

MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICAN TOP OFFICIALS MEETING (SUN) - Mexico's president elect Enrique Pena Nieto meets with presidents from Central American countries in Guatemala City.
