COEUR D'ALENE -- A Kootenai County Sheriff's deputy who witnessed a robbery in progress chased down the suspects, then rammed their getaway car with his patrol vehicle.
Justin Booth, 29, and Bodi Dotson, 19, were arrested for Robbery and Grand Theft. Booth faces additional charges for eluding. Both men will appear in Kootenai County Court Monday afternoon.
Authorities say on Sunday evening, the deputy was patrolling 15th and Dalton, and witnessed a robbery at the Dalton Market. Two men wearing masks and displaying a handgun ran from the store and fled from the deputy.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department, the deputy pursued the suspects' getaway car around the Lookout Drive/Hayden View Loop area, finally turning onto a dead end. That's where officials say the suspects attempted to turn around, but the deputy rammed their vehicle, ending the pursuit.
The car Booth and Dotson were driving was stolen, according to deputies.
No one was injured in the incident.
