SPOKANE -- People in Spokane are taking advantage of every opportunity to get either the H1N1 or seasonal flu vaccinations. At Shiloh Hill Elementary, more than 500 people lined up to get vaccinated.
Long before the health district opened their clinic doors, about 100 people were lined up outside, putting up with the rain and cold to get vaccinated.
Inside, health officials tried to keep the lines moving and make sure everyone got what they came for.
"We found H1N1 affects children mostly so they're in the priority group," said Spokane Regional Health District official Kristi Siahaya.
Lisa Jonckers says her kids usually don't get flu shots, but she's taking advantage to protect them both now that she knows the swine flu can get ugly.
The Health District says they'll have other clinics in December, after more doses of the swine flu shot vaccine are available. The district is also giving vaccinations out to local health providers, so check with your doctor if you would like one.
