Volcanoes grab game one of NWL title tilt

SPOKANE -- Thursday night lights at Avista Stadium, and the Northwest League Championship is on the table.
But it was the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes who did most of the eating in front of more than 1,500 fans.

Salem-Keizer grabs game one of NWL Championship series.
With two runs in the top of the first and another two in the top of the third, the Volcanoes jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back.
Spokane was down 5-0 before finally getting on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning with 3 runs, but that was all they could muster.
With the win Salem-Keizer stands two wins away from capturing the NWL Championship.
Game two starts Friday afternoon at 1:30 at Avista Stadium, game three and games four and five (if necessary) will be played in Salem.
Spokane finished the season 51-25, their best record in 26 years. Salem-Keizer finished 40-36.
