3-year old Kyra was found at her home in St. Maries bloody and badly abused.

Three-year-old Kyra was found almost two weeks ago with dead flesh on her arms and legs after deputies were asked to perform a welfare check on her at her St. Maries' home.

A deputy took Kyra to the hospital in St. Maries after observing the dead flesh and that the little girl was going in and out of consciousness.

Kyra's father, Tom Wine, said Kyra has had numerous surgeries.

Kyra's father said Kyra is still in serious condition at Sacred Heart, but is expected to recover.

Deputies have arrested Kyra's mother, Christina Haynes, and her live-in boyfriend, Charles Smith, and charged them with felony injury to a child.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE ST. MARIES, ID -- It's been a week since KREM.com broke the horrific story of abuse suffered by three year old Kyra Wine in Saint Maries, Idaho.

And today doctors still aren't completely sure what sort of abuse caused her injuries. Kyra was discovered by Benewah County Sheriff's Deputies at her mother's home bruised and bloody.

Investigators say the flesh on her feet was dead and black, and it looked like she was wearing black sox. Doctors are still running test to narrow down possible causes of those injuries.

The Benewah County Prosecutor says that once doctors come up with a specific cause he may change or add criminal charges against Kyra's mother Christina Haynes and her boyfriend Charlie Smith.
