Dramatic rescue along flooded St. Joe River

ST. MARIES, Idaho -- Benewah County water rescue crews saved a driver who was stranded when water from the flooded St. Joe River overtook his truck.

A man was rescued from his truck along the St. Joe River.
Authorities tell KREM 2 News the man got stuck in the mud Wednesday afternoon along St. Joe River Road. Suddenly, water from the river began to rise and surrounded the pick-up.
The man's neighbor saw what happened and tried to rescue him in a row boat, but the current was too strong.
The man was eventually brought to shore and loaded into a waiting ambulance.
