DEER PARK, Wash. -- Spokane Sheriff's major crimes detectives arrested two men around 8pm Friday in connection with the homicide of a man whose body was found in Deer Park earlier yesterday.
Christopher Devlin, 55, and Carl Hoskins, 56, were each booked into the Spokane County Jail on counts of First Degree Murder.
Autopsy of the victim is scheduled for Monday. However, detectives believe he is Daniel Heily, 52, of Chattaroy.
Devlin is charged with an earlier burglary and second-degree assault, and Heily was scheduled to testify against him in superior court this week as a victim and witness.
When Heily didn't show up for the trial, detectives issued a Material Witness warrant for his arrest Thursday afternoon.
Those same detectives were in Deer Park searching for him Friday morning when they spied his truck parked behind the liquor store and discovered his body inside the cab.
Exact cause of death will be determined at autopsy Monday, so detectives would only say that Heily died of homicidal violence.
Investigation into the killing was still underway late Friday as detectives continued efforts to contact other potential witnesses in the case.
