SPOKANE -- A man accused of stealing 14 handguns from the Sportsman's Warehouse store in Spokane Valley will face federal weapons charges. According to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Spokane, Patrick Boam will be charged for interfering with interstate commerce because those guns were not made in Washington.
Patrick Boam faces federal charges for stealing guns from a Spokane Valley sporting goods store.
Police say Boam hid inside the store last month, waited for employees to leave and then filled a bag with guns. Boam was captured on surveillance video, but wasn't arrested until Friday night.
Boam is well known to police across Eastern Washington. KREM 2 News searched court records and found he's been convicted of four felonies in Walla Walla and Whitman counties.
Prosecutors say Boam was just arrested in February for stealing from the Macy's store at Northtown Mall.
