SPOKANE, WA. -- A second man has been convicted of murder in a fatal shooting on the Spokane Indian Reservation.

U.S. District Judge Edward F. Shea on Thursday sentenced 25-year-old Joey Jake Moses to 35 years in prison in a plea agreement that spared Moses a life prison term. Moses was given 25 years for first-degree murder and an additional mandatory 10 years for using a firearm to commit the murder.

A co-defendant, 31-year-old Norman Ford Jr. of Wellpinit, was convicted last month of first-degree murder and burglary and remains in custody pending sentencing in June.

The case stems from the shooting of 20-year-old Gary Flett Jr. at his home on the reservation about 30 miles northwest of Spokane on June 1, 2006.

During Ford's trial, Ford and Moses testified the other fired the rounds that killed Flett.
