A firefighter cuts into the roof of the Airway Express in Airway Heights in an effort to battle a Tuesday morning blaze.
Firefighters say the blaze started in a laundry room early this morning.
No one was hurt, but two families staying at the motel were forced to evacuate. The Red Cross is helping those families find a place to stay.
Jamie Zaborac says she fled the residence with her son, boyfriend and two pets.
"I tried to reach back into my bedroom window to get my car keys but they (firefighters) yelled at me to get out," Zaborac said. "There was so much smoke inside we couldn't breath."
Fire crews say the entire building is a loss.
