AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -- The Walmart store in Airway Heights is closed indefinitely because managers worry the roof might give-way under the weight of heavy snow.

The Walmart store in Airway Heights is closed indefinitely.
Employees tell KREM 2 News a post near a cash register that extends from the floor to the ceiling has started to bow.
Workers have been clearing snow from the roof the past few days. However, they can't get it off fast enough.
Customers say around 1pm, they heard an announcement to stop shopping to get to the checkout line. A few minutes later, the tone changed. They were told to leave their shopping carts and evacuate.
"People just started rushing, some people did leave their carts, my daughter started to cry because she was scared," says Angie Bosworth. "The managers did very well as far as getting us all out in a timely manner."
Managers have posted a sign on the door that reads, 'The store will be closed to due to snow on the roof until further notice.'
The closure affects not only customers, but employees.
