SPOKANE -- Police have found a stolen car belonging to a Spokane soldier who is currently serving in Afghanistan. The car has been missing for about a week and finally it's back but in pieces.
The soldier's mother, Dixie Thompson, says she is happy to have the car back, even in the shape it's in. Her son, Specialist Zachary Tullos, bought the Toyota sports car from 14-thousand dollars while he was deployed in Afghanistan. He drove it for the first time for two weeks when he came home on leave. The day after he left, somebody stole it out of Thompson's garage. Last Monday, she broke the news to him.
"He was just kind of speechless, and he's like okay," said Thompson.
Thompson can laugh now because last Thursday she got a call from deputies. A man found her son's car off Elk-Chattaroy Road in Northwest Spokane County in a wooded area.
The thieves stole the tail lights and headlights, tore into the panels inside the car and trunk. They also stole a few parts from under the hood. Thompson says the tow property owner found other parts scattered around the car.
Thompson says since the first story aired on KREM 2 News last Sunday, she's received calls from businesses and people wondering how they can help. She's set up a fund at all U.S. Bank locations under the listing: Donation for Zachary Tullos.

What you think they put in a new system

New system i.e. web page is as bad as the NWCN one. Too much clutter. Probably not wise to by a car when in Afganistan and especially off eBay. Most are ripoffs anyway. Plus now it sits with insurance (if he had any) and tax.license.
