Bissell fire 50 percent contained

UPDATE: Authorities said firefighters will continue to mop up work around the Bissel fire today. The fire was reported to be 50 percent contained and burned 377 acres.

Officials warned residents the could be seeing increased smoke due to winds in the region.

All evacuation orders have been lifted for the Bissell Fire, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Washington State Patrol officials said power had been restored to the command post in Hunters Tuesday morning.

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash --- Level three evacuations in place for all residents within a mile radius of 3987 Bissell Road.

This means you need to leave immediately.

The Bissell Fire has grown to more than 400 acres and is 10 percent contained, according to WSP.

According to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources it is also moving fast and is threatening homes.

Engines, helicopters and heavy air tankers are on the way, said the WSDNR.

The Red Cross opened a shelter for those displaced by the Bissell Fire Sunday night at 10:30 p.m. The location was at Hunters School, 4961B Hunters Co Shop Road, Hunters, WA 99137.
