Woman reportedly stabs couple during argument on N. Magnolia

SPOKANE, Wash. --- Spokane police have arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing a man and woman Tuesday. According to an affidavit, a man and his girlfriend were sleeping in a car on N. Magnolia Street when they were attacked by Janet Grove.

The man told police Grove approached the car with a large knife and began yelling at them. They both got out of the car and he said that was when Grove attacked his girlfriend. He said his girlfriend hit Grove and then Grove stabbed her in the torso.

The man said he then stepped between them and he was cut on his left hand.

Court documents said he fought Grove off and was able to get his girlfriend to the hospital.

Grove told police a different story according to the affidavit. Grove told police she was confronted by the man and woman, and that the woman punched her three times. Grove said she was already holding the knife and she swung the knife to protect herself.
