U.S. Marshals search for dangerous and potentially armed suspect in Republic

REPUBLIC, Wash. --  The U.S. Marshals Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a dangerous and potentially armed felon.

Officials said Robert Showers, 49, fled from law enforcement on Lambert Creek Road near Tamarca Lane in Republic Saturday night. Authorities believe he is on foot in that area and he may be hiding in neighbors’ barns or other buildings. Law enforcement believes he might also go to Kettle Falls. Officials said he owns a very dark maroon colored Chrysler Lebaron convertible.

Showers has a federal arrest warrant stemming from his convictions of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing explosives, according authorities.

The Marshals Office wants people to know that you could face federal charges of harboring if you provide any assistance to Showers. If you see Showers, do not approach him and call 911. You are also urged to call 911 if you have any information on his whereabouts.
