Uber to give free ice cream to riders in downtown Spokane Thursday

SPOKANE, Wash. —Ride sharing service Uber is offering riders free ice cream Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in downtown Spokane.

According to a press release from Uber, the company will be sharing ice cream from The Scoop with riders as a way to end August and a way to welcome Gonzaga students back to school.

In order to get ice cream, users will need to use the special in-app "ice cream" option that will become available to those who open the app downtown, including the Gonzaga campus.

According to the release, ice cream flavors from The Scoop will be served in six ounce cups.  Flavor options from The Scoop include: Salted Caramel, Strawberry, Chocolate Butter Cup, LemonHuckleBlue and Mint Chip.
