SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Three Spokane businesses found out Thursday that they were getting a big grant from BECU.
BECU, formerly known as Boeing Employees Credit Union, is celebrating the opening of its first two branches in Spokane by awarding $5,000 to each of the three businesses.
At 10:00 a.m. Thursday, the three businesses, Kitchen Spokane, A&J Transportation, and Anvil Welding Instruction, were all told they had won.
All three are local startups and help create more jobs in the community, something BECU organizers stressed was important in making their decision. A total of nine businesses were all considered for the grant.
BECU partnered with SNAP Spokane to provide the grants.
