Spokane Valley man charged with 71 counts of identity theft

SPOKANE, Wash --- Spokane Valley Police officials said they arrested a man on multiple accounts of identity theft and set his bond at $1 million.

Officials said after a months’ long investigation, Peter G. Reuteler was arrested for multiple accounts on identity theft.

Officials said the Spokane County Sheriff’s Investigative Task Force Detectives (ITF) began looking into a reported identity theft due to a fraudulent tax return in February.

Officials said detectives identified 30 victims in multiple states.

Officials said Reuteler was charged with a total of 71 charges of Identity Theft 1st and 2nd Degree, Forgery, Financial Fraud, Theft of Rental or Leased Property, Theft in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees and Possession on Another’s Identification.

Officials said during his first appearance, a judge set his bond at 1 million dollars.
