SPOKANE, Wash. --- The Spokane Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened in North Spokane on Monday night and sent a teenage boy to the hospital.
According to police, around 11:00 p.m. they got a call of a shooting near East Cozza Drive and North Standard Street. Police said the unidentified teenage boy was shot multiple times and had walked several blocks to a nearby home on North Hamilton Street and East Cozza Drive to get help.
He was taken to the hospital where authorities said Monday night he was stable with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives would not confirm if the shooting was gang related, but the gang prevention unit was on scene.
Authorities are searching for a suspect, but did not have a description immediately available. They also said the victim has not been cooperative with them.
Multiple people at home in the area of the shooting reportedly called police saying they heard multiple gunshots, officials said.
The investigation is ongoing.
