Spokane Co. District 4 breaks ground on new fire station

Spokane Co. Fire station groundbreaking

SPOKANE CO., Wash. – Crews in Spokane County broke ground on a new fire station in Deer Park on Monday.

The site of the new Spokane County District 4 station will be on Stevens Avenue and Crawford Avenue across from Deer Park City Hall.

Spokane County District 4 has leased the current Station 41 buildings for 30 years. Station 41, which is the oldest facility in the district, handles the most calls of any station in District 4. The current facility is made up of two separate buildings and has become too small, so the district will be expanding and building a new station for fire crews.

The new facility is funded by a bond that was passed in 2014. In addition to being a space for fire crews, the new Station 41 will also include a new community center where residents can hold events and meetings.

The new Station 41 is expected to be completed by summer 2018.
