Two charged in deadly Airway Heights baseball bat attack

One dead, one injured after apparent attack with baseball bat in Airway Heights

UPDATE: Kalispel Tribal Police have charged Brandon L. Pierce,19, and Christian J. Palmer,18, with second degree murder.  Both suspects were booked into the Spokane County Jail early Friday evening.

The investigation is ongoing. 

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — Kalispel Tribal Police Department and Airway Heights Police investigators are conducting a homicide investigation at Copper Landing Apartments in Airway Heights after one person died as a result of an altercation.

Reports state an adult male resident confronted several individuals for being loud in the parking lot.  This confrontation escalated into a physical fight and the death of the resident.

According to the release from Spokane County Sheriff's Office, authorities responded to the scene Friday morning with reports of a fight between two males, one possibly armed with a baseball bat.  Officers and Airway Heights Fire personnel arrived and immediately provided medical attention and secured the area.  

One male was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  The second male died at the scene.

Detectives do not believe there is any threat to citizens in this area and believe it was an isolated incident.
