New fire station opens in Chattaroy

In 2014, voters approved more than 9 million dollars in bond money to build new fire stations in Fire District 4 and to replace equipment.

CHATTAROY, Wash. – Fire station 40 near North Elk Chattaroy Rd and East Hamilton Rd opened on Saturday.

The new station will serve the eastern part of District 4, which was the area farthest from any fire station.

In 2014, voters approved a $9.6 million bond to replace equipment and build new fires stations in Fire District 4. 

Fire station 40 will cut response times by 15 minutes. 

In addition to this station, District 4 is working to replace two other fire stations they have outgrown.
