Alzheimer's patient, 89, missing from Spokane Valley

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County Sheriff's Office said Sunday that a missing Alzheimer's patient was found dead four blocks west from his nursing home.

Deputies said an 89-year-old patient Glen Stratton went missing from The Gardens on University and 4th Ave in Spokane Valley on Friday at around 6:15 a.m.

According to officials, Stratton was found in the backyard of a home four blocks away from The Gardens.

The cause of death has yet to be released.

Officials said Stratton was last seen wearing a tan jacket, light blue shirt, dark pants, and white shoes. Stratton is described as being 5'8", weighs about 170 pounds and uses a wheelchair. Officials said there is a blue and white embroidered bag on the back of the wheelchair.

Spokane Valley deputies searched for Stratton along with AIR 1.
