Luxury dog house raffle to help animals in need

Luxury dog house raffle (7-17-17)

SPOKANE, Wash.—A Spokane animal shelter could change the way people think of the expression “being in the dog house.”

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, SCRAPS, is raffling off a luxury dog house that could be considered nicer than some human homes.

The dog house is decked out with 21st century technology. People can control the heating and cooling systems with their smart phones. Smart phones also allow pet owners to watch their pet through the cameras, talk to them, and give them a treat.

The dog door is locked, and will only open when it senses the dog's collar. The locked door keeps out other unwanted guests like skunks and raccoons.

The dog dream house is more than six feet tall to accommodate any sized dog.

The dog house was donated to SCRAPS by local security company CAMTEK.

SCRAPS is raffling off the high-tech dog house to raise money to care for the animals in the shelter. The money will be spent on the animal’s veterinary bills, their food, and general care while they are in the animal shelter.

The raffle winner will be announced at the FETCH dog walk event September 16.

To enter the raffle or get more information on the dog house you can visit their website.
