Driver arrested, charged with vehicular homicide after hit-and-run in Spokane Valley

Driver in Valley fatal hit and run identified

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A 39-year-old man is facing charges after a fatal hit and run crash in the Spokane Valley late Monday night.

Deputies initially received reports of the collision at Broadway and University around 11:30 p.m. Monday night.  According to deputies, the driver of a Ford F 150 truck that had apparently hit a Mazda ran away after the collision. The driver of the Mazda died from their injuries.

Deputies were able to track the other driver down with a K9.  Virgil J. Seymour, 39, has been charged with vehicular homicide and is being held in Spokane County Jail.

Spokane Valley PD said in a release Seymour exhibited signs associated with intoxication and impairment, but the Spokane inmate roster did not have DUI listed as a charge. The passengers in each car were treated for minor injuries and evaluated.
