Strong smell of marijuana leads Shoshone Co. authorities to grow operation

WALLACE, Idaho—The strong smell of marijuana lead the Shoshone County Drug Task Force to $452,500 worth of marijuana plants and the arrest of a 42-year-old man Wednesday.

Authorities with law enforcement said they located 181 marijuana plants seized from an indoor marijuana grow operation at Caron Court in Wallace.

Reports said Umberto Caron was arrested for manufacturing of marijuana, trafficking marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Several charges were still pending.

Officials said it started when Shoshone County Deputy responded to a complaint from a resident in Caron Court. reports said when he arrived on scene he smelled marijuana. He obtained a search warrant for the residence and members of the task force executed the search.
