Moose calf put down after being found with hunting arrow in head

SHOSHONE CO, Idaho --- The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the community to determine who shot a moose calf in the head with a hunting arrow.

Officials said they responded to the call Thursday night and discovered a month and a half old moose in distress.

“Due to the extensive injuries, and for humane reasons, the moose had to be dispatched,” officials wrote in a release.

SCSO is asking anyone with information about the calf’s death to contact Capt. Jeremy Groves at 556-1114.
