Teen injured in Central District shooting

SEATTLE, Wash. --- A 17-year-old was injured in a shooting near Garfield High School Monday.

Police were called to the Teen Life Center at 23rd Ave and East Cherry Street about 4 p.m. when the teen walked into the center with a gunshot wound.

The victim was shot in the arm, and Seattle Fire is transporting the victim for treatment.

Police are searching the area for a suspect, who is described as a black male in his mid- to late-teens. He is about 5-foot-5 and was wearing a black and white polo shirt and black jeans.
