MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A Moses Lake PD officer pulled a suicidal man from a bridge before he could jump on Monday morning.

MLPD said in a release the officer was trying to speak with the man who he found straddling the rail when he noticed the subject began shifting his weight and moving around.

“Believing the man was getting ready to jump, the officer closed the distance and pulled him off the rail and onto the sidewalk,” MLPD wrote in a release.

Officials said a WSP officer helped to detain the main and transport him to Grant County Mental Health for an evaluation.

No one was hurt in the incident.

“We are very proud of the effort our officers put forth every day to make our community a better place,” MLPD said in a release. ”This is just one example of the outstanding service we strive to provide our city.”
