LEWISTON, Idaho-- Two pedestrians were struck by vehicles in the Lewiston area Thursday night.
Officers responded to the first collision just after 10 p.m. on the 3rd Ave. North and Highway 12.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 65-year-old man had been hit by a vehicle. The vehicle was not on the scene.
Reports said when officers arrived at the scene evidence indicated the pedestrian was hit and possibly drug under the vehicle.
Officials said a short time later a person went to the Lewiston Police Department and told police he had hit somebody on 3rd and Highway 12.
Police said after questioning the driver, drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
No charges are being filed at this time, said LPD in a press release.
Reports said approximately 45 minutes after receiving the first call, Idaho State Police responded to a second call for a semi-trailer turning onto 3rd and U.S. Highway 12 hitting a pedestrian.
Both pedestrians were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The incidents are currently under investigation. The names of the drivers and pedestrians have not been released. KREM 2 will have more information after the families have been notified.
