3 suspects arrested following string of burglaries at Lewiston storage facility

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewiston Police have identified a vehicle of interest and arrested three suspects following a string of reported burglaries at the Airport Rent-a-Space near Thain Road and Linden Avenue.

Authorities said there had been several reported burglaries at the storage facility over the course of two weeks. 

Around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, LPD received a report that the suspect vehicle, a red Toyota sedan, and three suspects had returned to the Airport Rent-a-Space and were currently in a storage unit.

Officers located the vehicle and three suspects, later identified as 40-year-old Matthew D. Armstrong, 38-year-old Summer D. Gibson and 36-year-old Jeffrey C. Arnett.

LPD said further investigation revealed the three had forced entry into a storage unit not belonging to them and were loading their vehicle with stolen items. Officers recovered additional stolen property in their possession from a previous burglary at the location, along with narcotics and paraphernalia.

Armstrong was arrested for two counts of burglary. Gibson was arrested for burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia. Arnett was arrested on an outstanding warrant for petit theft, as well as new charges of burglary, grand theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.
