MT. SPOKANE, Wash. -- Mt. Spokane opens on Friday. Crews were all over the mountain Wednesday getting things ready before the holiday or what they are calling 'White Friday'.
The only lines right are the lines of skis waiting to be checked out. They have already been waxed and sharpened. Now they just need skiers. On the other side of the lodge, the tubing hill is almost finished. It won't make the 'White Friday' but it should be open in another week.
Mt. Spokane has two feet of snow at the top, a little less at the base. There are still some rough spots but the groomers are all over the mountain cleaning them up.
Mt. Spokane says an early Thanksgiving opening should be the start of a good season. And once they are open, the skiers will come.
