Winter weather leaves thousands without power in the Inland Northwest

Weather Update: 5:00 a.m. (12-20-17)

SPOKANE, Wash.-- Power companies across the region are reporting major power outages.

Avista reported 4,425 households without power early Wednesday morning. By 12 p.m. Avista said still 3,682 homes and businesses were impacted.

Northern Lights Inc. reported over 6,563 outages at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. 

More than 5,000 people were left without power in Bonner County after rain and snow moved through the area Tuesday night.

More snow is on the way for most of the northern portion of the Inland Northwest. The region is under a winter storm warning through Wednesday morning and some areas could get between 8 to 12 inches of snow in the next 12 hours or so.
