Man injured in Browne's Addition apartment fire

SPOKANE, Wash. – A local man was taken to the hospital after his apartment in Browne's Addition caught fire Tuesday morning. 

Firefighters responded to the apartment on West Second Avenue and South Poplar Street and discovered heavy smoke coming from the mans unit. Another resident helped the occupant evacuate his apartment by the time firefighters arrived.

Crews contained the fire and evacuated the rest of the building. The victim was treated on scene for smoke inhalation before he was transported to the hospital. He is expected to fully recover.

The Spokane Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
